Morning with Megan: DIY Nichos
Participants will create a personal nicho, a small decorative shadow box or shrine traditionally used to honor a person, memory, place, or meaningful subject. Inspired by the rich visual traditions surrounding Día de Muertos, participants can incorporate photographs (bring a photo of a person or pet you’d like to remember), symbols, colors, and objects that hold personal meaning. Participants will be invited to include their finished nicho in our community ofrenda for Día de Muertos. Participation in the ofrenda is optional, and families may also take their finished piece home.
Cost: $20 per member | $25 per non-member
Materials: All supplies included
Registration: Please pre-register online or call 218-385-3339.
