Ben’s dynamic, nylon-string, finger-style guitar work features jazzy chords, counterpoint, and unusual combinations of texture; you'll hear chicken pickin’, blues, and hints of jazz and flamenco at this fun "celebrating the local" show!
The New York Mills Regional Cultural Center's 2023 Fall Concert Series continues with local musician Ben Ranson on Saturday, September 30, 2023 @ 7:30 p.m. in the Cultural Center’s gallery listening room space.
Ben Ranson is a nylon-string, finger-style guitarist and comic singer-songwriter from Sebeka, Minnesota. He calls himself a “folksinger,” but he is much more than that. At a recent performance, fans reported “laughing until they cried” as they listened to his songs about potato inspectors, love, taxidermists, garbage men, grasshoppers, and other unusual subjects.
Adult advance tickets are $10 for adults ($12 at the door) or $5 for students.
Snacks and cash bar available. Music begins at 7:30; doors open at 7:00.
